As a Vocational Education and Training Industry Advisory Organisation (VETIAO), the Health and Community Services Workforce Council (Workforce Council) provides advice to the Department of Education and Training (DET) on Vocational Education and Training (VET) investment for the health and community services industries.
In this role, we have been working closely with health and community services to assist in identifying solutions to workforce issues, and the need and demand for ongoing training across the industries.
The Workforce Council would like to extend our thanks to the many industry stakeholders who have contributed to our work.
In our role as peak body for the health and community services workforce in Queensland, we have the advantage of being across sector reforms and are able to proactively engage the industries to determine what training and skill development the workforce may need in order to address key reform elements where necessary.
The health and community services industries have identified the value provided by the Workforce Council, with our expertise around the process of influencing necessary changes in the VET sector, which would otherwise be prohibitively complex and off-putting for the industries to pursue independently.
A summary of our recent outcomes and short-term priorities can be accessed below.
