Skilling Queenslanders for Work’s successful projects announced as new funding round opens

The Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative is looking for the next round of innovative projects to assist job seekers on to positive career paths.

The first funding round for 2017–18 is now open, with $60 million available over the year to provide skills, training and jobs for up to 8000 disadvantaged Queenslanders.

Eligible organisations may now apply for funding under the following programs:

  • Community Work Skills
  • Work Skills Traineeships
  • Ready for Work
  • Get Set for Work
  • Youth Skills

The application window is open until 5pm (AEST) Thursday 6 April, which allows plenty of time to develop a strong application.

Department of Education and Training staff will deliver information sessions across the state in March. They will detail each Skilling Queenslanders for Work program. Register now to attend your nearest session.

Successful applicants in the second Skilling Queenslanders for Work funding round for 2016–17 have been announced with 175 successful projects allocated more than $33.8 million to develop the skills of unemployed and underemployed Queenslanders.

Organisations that have previously applied are encouraged to seek feedback and consider reapplying in the new funding round.
