Queensland Family and Child Commission’s Second action plan released

As you will know, we have been working with the Queensland Family and Child Commission (QFCC) to develop the Second action plan: Strengthening our sector 2017-19.

The document is the result of broad collaboration across the sector and details a way forward for building a more sustainable and responsive child and family support system in Queensland.

The Second action plan complements the First action plan 2016-17 which set the foundations for strengthening the capacity and capability of our sector, and building a positive and collaborative culture across child and family practice.

The Second action plan builds on achievements and learnings from the sector so far and focuses on:

  • profiling best practice for capability and capacity development
  • leading collaboration across the sector to develop programs, frameworks and tools to support positive change
  • identifying future priorities to continuously drive sector improvements that lead to positive outcomes for children and families, and
  • QFCC implementation responsibilities under the Our Way Strategy 2017-2037 and Changing Tracks Action Plan 2017-2019.

Actions under the Second action plan will be coordinated by the QFCC alongside sector partners. However, the onus is on all of us to own the future development of the child and family support sector. It’s an exciting opportunity to play an active role in strengthening our sector.
