What’s it about?
This one day workshop has been designed to assist professionals working with children from 0-12 years to gain understanding of the possible causes of challenging behaviour and also gain practical skills and strategies for managing challenging behaviours. The workshop will explore the impact of trauma, complex trauma and disrupted attachment which may include experiences such as abuse, fire, domestic violence, family breakdown or severe whether events.
This training aims to simplify contemporary research in trauma and attachment, and through integration with practice wisdom, provides real hands-on strategies for responding to behaviours and supporting children’s recovery within a child-care setting.

Trent Savill – Complex Care
Trent Savill is the Co-Director of ‘Complex Care’, a Brisbane based practice that specialises in providing therapeutic support to children in the child protection system with complex needs. Trent has been working in private practice for 6 years as a consultant therapist and has over 10 years of experience working with complex and high-risk young people in the child-protection system, providing consultancy to the Department of Communities (Child Safety) and Non-government sector, in-home therapy to children and families, training to carers and professionals, and coordinating residential care programs.
