What’s it about?
Reflective practice is the process that underlies all forms of high professional competence. This workshop will challenge procedural approaches to engaging in reflective practice and focus on building practical skills to enable self reflection and also to support others in their professional development. The workshop will cover both domains of analytical skill and emotional management and reconnect participants with the microskills that facilitate the development of reflective practitioner skills in others. The workshop process will include an update on the theory surrounding reflective practice and application of this knowledge to workplace interactions with others. The presenter will model strategies and a safe and supportive environment will be created to assist all participants to practice skill development.

Penny Gordon has a 30 year career as a psychologist and currently works in private practice both in clinical and organizational areas of psychology, consulting broadly across a range of sectors and areas of practice. Penny has consulted widely within the Early Childhood and Educational Care sector for over a decade. In recent years she has assisted early childhood professionals to integrate and implement the paradigms associated with the National Quality Framework and in transforming pedagogical principles into high quality professional practice. Penny is a highly regarded trainer and facilitator and as well as regularly presenting professional development programs has also taught extensively in post graduate university courses.
