Respite Coordinator Consultation Forum

The Community Services and Health Industry Skills Council (CS&H ISC) is holding a free Industry Consultation Forum in Brisbane on Friday 13 August to seek feedback on Draft 1 components reflecting the work functions of Intake and Respite Coordinators.

What are the changes?

Three draft units of competency are proposed for addition to the Community Services Training Package (CHC08) and are intended to assist workers in Community Services who coordinate Respite for carers. The work functions reflected include:

1. Use telephone communication skills to assess caller's needs

2. Conduct assessment of carer's needs

3. Facilitate access to information and services to support carers to meet their needs

Provide feedback by survey

The Industry Survey is now available to download on the Industry Consultation Forums and Materials section of the CS&H ISC website. To provide feedback please download and complete this survey and return it to rebecca.seib@cshisc.com.au by Friday 20 August 2010.
