Are you eligible for subsidised professional development?

The Workforce Council is funded by the Australian and Queensland Governments to support Children’s Services. This includes offering subsidised professional development opportunities for eligible services and educators.

There are conditions on who is eligible that we do not control, and we know it can be confusing.

When you register for one of our workshops, you can select the subsidised price provided your service/employer is:

One of the following types of services AND is also Child Care Benefit approved:

  • Outside School Hours Care (including Vacation Care)
  • Family Day Care
  • Occasional Care
  • In Home Care
  • Long Day Care: Only for new (not purchased) services that received their approval after 13 June 2014.

Or, one of the following types of services AND received funding under the Budget Based Funding Program:

  • Flexible/innovative services
  • Mobile ECEC services
  • Multifunctional Aboriginal Children’s Services
  • Indigenous playgroups
  • Indigenous Outside School Hours Care and enrichment programs
  • Creches
  • Innovative ECEC service centres

Or, a kindergarten service that holds a membership with a Central Governing Body (CGB).

If no subsidised price is available or for any service that falls outside of the above criteria the full fee must apply.

Long Day Care support

While many Long Day Care providers are ineligible for our subsidised prices on workshops, we encourage services to make the most of any funding received via the Long Day Care Professional Development Program (LDCPDP) by choosing us for your professional development.

You can use your LDCPDP funding to attend all of our workshops and events, or work with us to create a customised program that uses your funding to address the unique needs of your service, in your own workplace.
